David Baughan
Stage Manager

Born in England, David has a background as a theatre stage manager, lighting designer, and photographer. Stage management credits in BC include numerous productions for TheatreOne (Nanaimo), Graffiti Theatre (Salt Spring Island), and Chemainus Theatre Festival (CTF). He is pleased to return for his 17th production at CTF where he stage managed Mr. Pim Passes By and Oklahoma! earlier this year. He is an associate director of Graffiti Theatre. David's photographs have been exhibited in many European and North American cities. His photographs are held in the Musée national d'art moderne collection in Paris.



Norma Bowen
Marilla Cuthbert

Norma is a graduate of Studio 58 and an associate artist of CTF. Before leaving Vancouver she collected two Jessie Award nominations for Fool for Love (Arts Club) and a Lie of the Mind (Vancouver Playhouse). Favourite CTF credits include: Private Lives, Annie, See How They Run, An Ideal Husband, She Stoops to Conquer, A Doll's House, Hay Fever, Having Hope At Home, Ah, Wilderness! And most recently Oklahoma! Anne is her 19th production with CTF. Norma resides in Ladysmith with her husband Mike and their teenage progeny, Luanna and Cody.



Tamera Broczkowski
Josie Pye

Tamera is excited to be appearing in Anne, her second show at CTF. She also appeared in Ah, Wilderness! this season. Born and raised in Southern Ontario, Tamera gained a BA in theatre and has appeared in several productions in Ontario including at the Shaw Festival. A Studio 58 graduate, past productions for Studio include Polly Browne in The Boy Friend, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls; Dogeaters, and Richard III. Recipient of the 2008 Anthony Holland Trust Scholarship for Outstanding Ability in Theatre Arts. For J.



Lindsay Cavelle
Diana Barry

Lindsay is thrilled to be making her CTF debut. Toronto training and work include The Royal Conservatory of Music, George Brown Theatre School, Joseph (LIVENT), Macbeth (Driftwood Theatre Group). In Vancouver while training at Second Avenue Studios, Lindsay performs in film, dance, and theatre, notably with comedy group Grimaldi's Asylum. Lindsay would like to thank Zahf Paroo, Vic Perillo, and her teacher, Andrew McIlroy, for their wisdom and encouragement. To her mother and grandmother for their unfailing love and support.



Susanne Clampett
Sound Designer

Susanne is thrilled to be making her CTF debut. She has designed for Stratford Festival and Atlanitc Theatre Festival, but most of her design work has been with the Vancouver Playhouse. She has designed about a dozen shows with the Playhouse over the years. She has a BA in Guitar Performance from UC Santa Barbara as well as an MM in Sound Recording from McGill University.



Ewan Clark
Matthew Cuthbert

Ewan pursues his careers as actor, musician, teacher, and writer. He will never stop. He began acting at age 10 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He's done Shakespeare, Sam Shepherd, Gilbert and Sullivan, and Chekhov. He's played a Japanese doctor, 'him in the attic', Santa Rat and Colonel Mustard, and the indomitable Major-General Stanley in CTF's The Pirates of Penzance ... sort of 19th century rap. The delight of an actor is to continue to play, especially with similarly engaged colleagues, and provide entertaining and thoughtful moments to an appreciative audience. Ewan is delighted to be at CTF once more.



Susan Coodin
Ruby Gillis

Susan is very excited to be joining the Chemainus team for the very first time! Since graduating from Studio 58 in Vancouver, Susan has been seen playing Foible in United Player's production of The Way of The World, and Julia in Green Thumb Theatre's touring show Wired. Past Studio 58 credits include Launcelot in The Merchant of Venice, Ruth in The Ash Girl, Fay in The Boyfriend and Young Elizabeth in Richard III. Thank you to everyone who has made her feel so wonderfully at home here.



Samantha Currie
Anne Shirley

Samantha is delighted to be back in Chemainus and sharing in such a wonderful production. Recent credits include: Oklahoma! (CTF), Munsch Alley (Carousel Theatre), A Christmas Carol (Theatre North- West), Invisible Girl - National Tour (Green Thumb Theatre), My Fair Lady (Gateway Theatre), Cabaret and Waiting for the Parade (Showcase Festival). A graduate of AMDA in New York, Samantha sends love and thanks to her family, Alex and especially her in-laws for again helping her feel so at home in their home. A joyous holiday season to all.



Aslam Husain
Gilbert Blythe

Aslam is a recent graduate of UBC's Acting Program. Recent roles include Peter in The Secret World of Og (Carousel Theatre) and Nick in New Canadian Kid (Green Thumb Theatre). Before graduating Aslam had the privilege to star in a production that became the first North American entrant in the International Theatre Festival SETKANI in the Czech Republic. Thanks to Shannon, Kasim, Mum and Dad for their continued support.



Rebekah Johnson
Lighting Designer

This is Rebekah's sixth show at CTF and as always it is a pleasure to work so close to her home town, Cobble Hill. Previous shows for CTF include A Streetcar Named Desire, Anything Goes and The Miracle Worker. Other recent credits include Ernestine Shushwap Gets Her Trout for The Firehall Arts Center in Vancouver, The Art of Murder for Vertigo Theatre in Calgary, and MacBeth for Kaleidoscope Theatre. Rebekah is a member of IATSE 168 (Vancouver Island) and the Associated Designers of Canada. She is currently attending UVic, working toward an MFA in Visual Art.



Carole Klemm
Set Designer

Carole is happy to be back designing in Chemainus! Previous credits include the sets for Mr. Pim Passes By, Ah, Wilderness!, The Miracle Worker, A Doll's House, Little Women, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Dunsmuirs, and The Heiress. Recent designs elsewhere include MacBeth for Kaleidoscope Theatre and Cariboo Buckeroo for Theatre SKAM. She has designed and painted for The Belfry Theatre, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Kaleidoscope Theatre, Western Canada Theatre Company and Studio 58. Thanks again to the patient and talented production crew and to her family in Victoria.



Paul Ledoux
Playwright

Paul was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He studied at Dalhousie University and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. He began writing for theatre while living in Montreal and working at the Centaur Theatre. His play, The Electrical Man, won the award for best play in the 1976 Quebec Drama Festival. Since, he has worked as an artistic director, dramaturge, director, designer and now writes for film and television as well as theatre.



L.M. Montgomery
Novelist 1874-1942

Born in New London, PEI, but her mother died of tuberculosis when she was 21 months old so she was raised by her mother's grandparents. Montgomery was an imaginative child who began to scribble stories at an early age. Her "stories" grew until they began to be published in the local newspaper. In 1908 her first novel, Anne of Green Gables, was published followed by - Anne of Avonlea (1909) and Anne of the Island (1915). She published 20 novels, 500 short stories and 500 poems as well as writing many unpublished works.



Bonnie Pavlovic
Costume Designer

Bonnie is delighted to be returning to CTF after designing this summer's Oklahoma! As well as being a designer for the theatre, she is a costumer for film. Exciting theatre projects include: The Man Who Shot Chance Delaney (Western Canada Theatre), The Island of Bliss (WCT), The Last Five Years (WCT), The Glass Menagerie (Project X) and Bad Boy Chronicles (Capilano). She is a graduate of Capilano's Costuming for Theatre and Film Program and a graduate of Fashion Design from the Blanche Macdonald Centre.



Donna White
Rachel Lynde

A two-time Jessie Richardson Award winner, Donna has a B.A. from U.B.C. and also trained at LAMDA in London. Donna has previously performed at CTF in An Inspector Calls and Enchanted April. She can be seen this Christmas Season in two television films: Under the Mistletoe and Aunty Claus. A recent radio reviewer of her stage work called her "...the incredible Donna White, one of the great actresses working in live theatre in Canada today. She has been delighting West Coast audiences for three decades."
