Adam Bergquist
Fred/Young Scrooge/Spirit Future
A former French-Canadian dairy farmer in Having Hope at Home, Adam is happy to be back in Chemainus for A Christmas Carol. Recent theatre in Vancouver and elsewhere: The Busy World is Hushed, Twelfth Night, You Are Not Dead, A Man for All Seasons (Directed by Jeremy Tow), The Odyssey and The Drawer Boy. Adam is a 'Fellow' of the Rosebud School of the Arts and a proud uncle to Mikayla, Kyle and Paige.

A Christmas Carol marks Norma's 37th show as an Associate Artist at the Chemainus Theatre. Norma gratefully acknowledges, Crystal and Mary and the Wonderful Women of the Wardrobe for their infinite patience in the face of creative indulgence. Past favorite designs include Little Women and Anything Goes.

Ruth is thrilled to be back at Chemainus Theatre Festival where she was last seen in Hayfever. Other theatre credits include Top Girls (Playhouse Theatre), School for Scandal (Arts Club Theatre), Noises Off (Citadel Theatre), Glorious! (Stage West Calgary), The Skinny Lie (Green Thumb). Ruth graduated from the UBC acting program, and is recently a graduate from SFU. Thank you to Mark, Chemainus Theatre Festival, and her cast for making this a special holiday season. Hayley Carr

Hayley is so happy to be back in Chemainus. Past Chemainus Theatre credits include The Miracle Worker, Rumplestiltskin, Little Women and The Wizard of Oz. Other credits include Home Child (Arts Club), Miracle Worker (Western Canada Theatre) and My Fair Lady (Gateway Theatre). Most recently Hayley co-wrote and performed in Alice and Lula for the Lab Cab Festival at Factory Theatre in Toronto. Huge thank you to her family, friends, her Chemainus Theatre family, Mark and always Jeremy.

Nicholas Croome

Nicholas loves to entertain. Whether stage, film, TV, break dancing, and yes, even musicals, Nicholas wants to do it all. This is Nicholas' 10th theatre production. Some of his best memories come from Chemainus Theatre Festival's Miracle on 34th Street (Tommy), Treasure Island (Jim), On Golden Pond (Billy ), King & I (Louis) and various Nanaimo Theatre Group pantomimes. He trains as a hip hop/break dancer, plays the trumpet, plans to include guitar and is in Grade 8.

Charles Dickens
Author (1812 - 1870)
The English, Victorian era, author wrote numerous highly acclaimed novels including his most autobiographical David Copperfield (1848-1850). As a prolific 19th Century author of short stories, plays, novellas, novels, fiction and non, during his lifetime, Dickens became known the world over for his remarkable characters, his mastery of prose in the telling of their lives, and his depictions of the social classes, mores and values of his times. Some considered him a spokesman for the poor, for he definitely brought much awareness to their plight, the downtrodden and the have-nots.

Born in Vancouver, Ian trained in the UK. Favourite theatre credits: South Pacific and Cinderella (London); The Sound of Music (Toronto); Cabaret, The Mousetrap and Shear Madness (Arts Club), Lettice and Lovage, The Foreigner and The Glass Menagerie (Pacific Theatre), Stones in His Pockets (Graffiti Theatre) and Company (Waterfront Theatre). Ian also runs the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival in Prescott, ON. He would like to dedicate this performance to the memory of Jeremy Tow.

Stefano Giulianetti

Stefano is excited to be back at Chemainus Theatre for his third show this year (Easter, Munsch Ado About Nothing). Other Island appearances include tours with The Emperor's New Threads (Axis) and The Boy Who Learned To Fly (Kaleidoscope). Stefano has also performed in Axis' renowned play The Number 14 and was recently accepted into Cirque du Soleil's casting bank as a physical performer. Nicolas Gunn
Tiny Tim
Chemainus Theatre Festival debut. A Christmas Carol, Theatre Calgary; Myths of Olympus, Red Room Studios; Seussical, the Musical, The Tooth Fairy's Daughter, school drama program. Nicolas is in grade 5 and enjoys outdoor activities, gardening and learning about the natural world. He is an accomplished Suzuki violinist and fiddler, a member of the BC Boys' Choir, and a Spotlight Academy student. He is excited to be here in Chemainus. Merry Christmas everyone!

Anna began performing in Saskatoon, SK where she danced for many years. A graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts, Anna has worked as an actor, singer, dancer, choreographer, producer and of course, a waitress. She is delighted to be making her professional theatre debut with the Chemainus Theatre Festival and would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Ereca has worked as a lighting designer at most of the major theatre companies in Canada. At Chemainus Theatre Festival: Strindberg's Easter, A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, Ah Wilderness! Recent design credits include: Brighton Beach Memoirs (Gateway Theatre); A Year with Frog and Toad (Carousel Theatre); Thoroughly Modern Millie (Gateway Theatre); Souvenirs (Prairie Theatre Exchange/Green Thumb Theatre); Albertine in Five Times (Shaw Festival). Ereca is a member of Associated Designers of Canada.

A graduate of the National Theatre School, John has spent the last 45 years as an actor, director and artist-in-residence in theatres and colleges across Canada and the United States, with periodic forays into the TV/Film world. He has just returned to the West Coast after 4 seasons with the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario. Last seen here in You Never Can Tell, he dedicates this performance to Jeremy Tow - friend and fellow journeyman.

Theodore Johnson
Tiny Tim
Although this is Theo's first professional foray onto the stage, he is a born performer. He is thrilled to be performing the perfect role for him, Tiny Tim, since his Dad is Big Tim. Having spent most of his life acting like a cat, his parent's are relieved to see him taking more of an interest in human roles. Theo enjoys learning french, playing with friends, tap dance, piano and soccer.

Neil Maffin

Neil feels blessed and honoured to be back for this third show at Chemainus Theatre Festival this season, having earlier played the heavies in Easter and Guys & Dolls. Other B.C. credits include Bard on the Beach and The Belfry. Neil has played lead roles on and off Broadway, at the major regional theatres across the States, and has guest-starred on numerous television shows such as Law & Order and Dead Like Me.

An award winning photographer, videographer and multi media producer, Tim started working in live theatre with Vancouver's 1987 Fringe Festival using projection of imagery as an element of the set design for live performance. 23 years and over 100 shows later, work with theatre, opera and dance has been a rewarding and ever expanding experience collaborating with a wonderful community of live performance artists. Erin is excited to, once again, be a part of Jeremy Tow's wonderful adaptation of this timeless classic, where she played Belle in the original production. Recently she appeared in the remount of Chemainus Theatre Festival's The Miracle Worker at Western Canada Theatre Company. Chemainus Theatre productions include Rose in Enchanted April, Lady Chiltern in An Ideal Husband, and Mona in Queen Milli of Galt. In honour of Jeremy. You are dearly missed.

Parker is 11 years old and loves the stage. He is thrilled to be returning for his second show at the Chemanius Theatre Festival. He spends his free time singing, playing guitar and writing music. He has recently been performing in Vancouver Island's Got Talent. Parker also enjoys taking Tap and Hip-Hop at Carlson's School of Dance. His stage credits include Miracle on 34th Street (Chemanius Theatre Festival), The Jungle Book (Shawnigan Lake Players) and The Music Man (South Island Musical Society).

Brian J. Sutton has received critical acclaim for his numerous theatrical appearances in Vancouver and has toured extensively, performing for thousands of children throughout B.C. Brian won a Jessie Award in 2007 (Outstanding Performance - Supporting Role) and was honoured last year with his second Jessie nomination (Outstanding Performance - Theatre for Young Audiences). Paul is thrilled to be back at The Chemainus Theatre Festival, having designed sound for the recent productions of Munsch Ado About Nothing and The Sunshine Boys. This fall Paul is also designing the sound for the Vancouver Island University production of The Arsonists. Theatre credits include projects for VIU, The National Arts Centre, Theatre Passe Muraille, Buddies In Bad Times Theatre, The Theatre Centre and Summerworks Theatre Festival.
