David Baughan
Stage Manager

Born in England, David has a background as a theatre stage manager, lighting designer, and photographer. Stage management credits in BC include numerous productions for TheatreOne (Nanaimo), Graffiti Theatre (Salt Spring Island), and Chemainus Theatre Festival (CTF). He is pleased to return for his 14th production at CTF where, earlier this year, he was the production stage manager for Saint Joan and South Pacific. David's photographs have been exhibited in many European and North American cities. His photographs are held in the Musée national d'art moderne collection in Paris.



Adam Bergquist
Michel (Mish) Charbonneau

This is Adam's CTF debut. Recent theatre credits include: A Man For All Seasons (MTC), The Odyssey (Carousel), The Crackwalker (Ashwood Theatre), A Moon For the Misbegotten (United Players), The Drawer Boy (Rosebud Theatre), Portia, My Love (ETC - Ensemble Theatre Company) as well as several appearance in film, television and commercials. Now living in Vancouver, Adam grew up in rural Alberta doing shows with the Rosalind Agricultural Society and Playgoers of Lethbridge. Adam is a graduate of the Rosebud School of the Arts.



Norma Bowen
Dawn Shaw

Norma is a graduate of Studio 58 and an Associate Artist of CTF. Before leaving Vancouver she collected two Jessie Award nominations for Food for Love (Arts Club) and A Lie of the Mind (Vancouver Playhouse). Favourite CTF credits include: Private Lives, Annie, See How They Run, An Ideal Husband, A Doll's House, and most recently South Pacific. Having Hope at Home is her 17th production with CTF. Norma resides in Ladysmith with her husband Mike and their teenage progeny, Luanna and Cody.



David S. Craig
Playwright

David S. Craig is currently the Artistic Director of Roseneath Theatre, Ontario's largest touring theatre. David has written more than 20 professionally-produced plays for theatre companies in Canada and the USA and has created two long-running series for CBC Radio: Morning Side and Metro Morning. His one-man show Napalm the Magnificent was performed extensively in Canada and on Theatre Row in Manhattan. He is currently working on a screenplay of his award winning play Danny, King of the Basement, for Instinct Films.



Robin Craig
Jane Bingham

Robin Craig has just finished a four month run of Anne and Gilbert in Prince Edward Island and is delighted to be playing Jane for a second time. She has been performing professionally for over thirty years. She appeared as Rachel Lynde in Anne of Green Gables at the Charlottetown Festival from 2002 to 2004. She won a Gemini Award in 1998 for her role as Toppy Bailey on Wind At My Back and plays Spinner's mother on Degrassi - the New Generation. She was a Shaw Festival company member for 6 seasons.



Itai Erdal
Lighting Designer

Vancouver-based lighting designer Itai Erdal has designed over 100 shows for dance and theatre companies in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, London and New York. Companies he has worked for include: The Vancouver Playhouse, Bard on the Beach, Factory Theatre, Volcano, Alberta Theatre Project, NAC, Touchstone Theatre, Replacement, Neworld, The Electric Company, GCTC, Theatre for the New City, Box Clever, Haifa Theatre and the Jerusalem Lab. Itai has won numerous awards including a Jessie in '03, the ADC's Jack King award in '05 and a Dora award in '07.



Sarah Henriques
Carolyn (Caro) Bingham

Sarah, born and raised in Vancouver, graduated from the acting programme at UBC and has been sharing her time between Toronto and the West Coast. Selected theatre credits include There's a Mouse in My House (Carousel Players), Marla's Party (Rabiayshna/Summerworks Festival), over 225 performances across Canada and the USA of the one-woman show Dying to be Thin (Roseneath Theatre/Manitoba Theatre for Young People), The Clean House (Manitoba Theatre Centre/Vancouver Playhouse). This past June Sarah created and was curator of Art Whispers '08: a multidisciplinary game of broken telephone.



Allan Morgan
Willaim (Bill) Bingham

Allan is very pleased to be making his CTF debut. Recent credits: Titus Andronicus and The Tempest (Bard on the Beach in Vancouver). Allan has performed extensively in Vancouver, and across the country, as well as touring internationally with The Overcoat. He has received many Jessie Award nominations and has been the recipient of four awards. He was voted best performer in Victoria last year for his work at the Belfry in their production of I Am My Own Wife. Allan is looking forward to his time on the island.



Kate Rittenhouse
Costume Designer

Kathleen is delighted to be involved in this production of Having Hope at Home at CTF and collaborating again with Nicola Cavendish. Their last project together was the 2006 production of Hay Fever at Presentation House in North Vancouver. Kathleen has worked as a costumer in theatre and film in Vancouver since 1997. In her spare time, she is working on a doctorate in mythology and psychology.



David Roberts
Set Designer

David is delighted to be working with Nicky on this funny and poignant Canadian play. Past shows for CTF are Candida and Queen Milli of Galt. Recent shows include Twelfth Night and King Lear (Bard on the Beach), 8th Land (Pi Theatre), Tiny Apocalypse (Rough House), Rabbit Hole (Arts Club Theatre) and Richard III (Studio 58). David has an MA in Scenography (University of the Arts, London), and DAMU (Prague), and is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada. David and his filmmaker wife, Annie, make their home in Vancouver.



Wes Tritter
Russell (Gramps) Bingham

Mr. Tritter is pleased to be making his first appearance at Chemainus Theatre Festival. He has appeared at The Belfry in Victoria, most recently in Urinetown, The Weir and Picasso at the Lapin Agile. A veteran of forty years at many theatres across Canada, Wes also appeared in the iconic TV Show, The Beachcombers. He resides in Victoria where, in his garden, rhubarb does not grow.



Marguerite Witvoet
Sound Designer

Marguerite is pleased to make her debut at CTF. Her first venture into sound design, an Arts Club production of The Mousetrap, was deemed "outstanding" by critics and audiences alike, and was nominated for a Jessie Award in 2003 for Best Sound Design. Since then, she has been sought after for creative collaborations by artists of all disciplines. As pianist, vocalist, composer, sound designer, music director and vocal coach, she is fast becoming known as one of Vancouver's most creative musicians. www.margueritewitvoet.ca
