"Treasure Tales," featuring "How I Became A Pirate" with adaptation and lyrics Alyn Cardarelli and music by Steve Goers and "The Pirate Princess" adapted for the stage by Mark DuMez, this summer's Kidzplay series at the Chemainus Theatre Festival, is sure to please.
For over a decade, Chemainus Theatre Festival has produced theatre for young audiences and this year's Kidzplay Series offers a theatre of vibrant energy, childlike imagination, and immediate audience connection which is best suited for young people ages four and over.
Dig for gold, brave the high seas, and swashbuckle through this treasure of thrilling tales. A buried collection of silly, surprising and secret stories where X marks the spot and it's closer than you might think!
These one-hour shows are scheduled for Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11 a.m. adding 2 pm shows on Fridays during July and 2 p.m. shows Tuesdays and Fridays during August.
Tickets are $10 each or in a four-pack at $30, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

Chemainus Theatre Festival presents summer KidzPlay Series Treasure Tales!
Adapted for stage by Mark DuMez, this is a collection of silly, surprising, and secret stories all about Pirates and a Princess. Dig for gold and brave the high seas through this treasure of thrilling tales.
These dynamic tales are performed by four fine actors: Megan Gates, Wade Gamble, Sam Graham and Tanner d'Esterre, all graduates of the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria.
Costume design and construction is by Michelle Lieffertz, direction and scenic design by Mark DuMez, with Stage management by Meghan Morton.
Join CTF for a fine adventure and frivolous fun; a show that is great entertainment for all ages, but most appreciated by young people ages four and older (bring your adult).
The show is an hour long. Tickets are $10.Treasure Tales! runs through July on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 11 a.m. and Friday at 2 pm.
In August it runs Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 11 a.m. and Tuesdays and Fridays at 2 p.m.

Silly, surprising and secret stories about pirates and a princess dock at the Chemainus Theatre starting this week during Treasure Tales.
The KidzPlay series adapted for stage by actor-director Mark DuMez allows children to dig for gold and brave the high seas through thrilling stage tales.
Actors Megan Gates, Wade Gamble, Sam Graham and Tanner d'Esterre show their stage craft from Victoria's Canadian College of Performing Arts.
Costumes designed and made by Michelle Lieffertz joins scenic design by DuMez and stage management by Meghan Morton during Treasure Tales.
Youngsters must be accompanied by an adult for the one-hour show.
