Chemainus Theatre Festival presents an original musical stage adaptation of Little Women, a Holiday Musical by playwright & co-lyricist Mark DuMez and composer & co-lyricist Jim Hodginkson. Based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott, this beloved world classic is transformed for the stage with enchanting melodies, beautiful costumes, live music and dance. This charming and traditional story will be a delightful way to celebrate the holiday Season! The show opens on November 25 and runs until January 21.

The story is about the power of family, friendship and romance. The March family live in a picturesque world, caught between candlelight, horse-drawn carriages and the turbulence of the American Civil War. Meet the March girls: spoiled Amy, precocious Jo, frail Beth, and the eldest, Meg. Through their dreams, plays, mischief, stories, illnesses, and courtships; we witness the transformation from girls to ‘Little Women.’

Joining Director Don Noble on the creative team are: Playwright Mark DuMez, Musical Director Jim Hodgkinson, Choreographer Colleen Winton, Set Designer Carole Klemm, Lighting Designer Shannon Frederickson, Resident Costume Designer Norma Bowen, and Sound Designer Robin Boxwell, and Resident Stage Manager Alex Currie.

CTF is pleased to present a wonderful cast for this new musical: Hayley Carr, Courtenay Dobbie, Steven Greenfield, Alison MacDonald, Julie McIsaac, Ryan Reid, Gordon Roberts, Jeremy Tow, and Seana-Lee Wood.

Don’t miss the chance to see Chemainus Theatre Festival’s new musical adaptation of Little Women, A Holiday Musical which runs November 25 to January 21, 2006.
