Norma Bowen
Mrs. Linde

Norma is a graduate of Studio 58. Before leaving Vancouver she collected two Jessie Award nominations for Fool for Love (Arts Club) and a Lie of the Mind (Vancouver Playhouse). Favourite CTF credits include: Private Lives, Charley's Aunt, The Heiress, Annie, See How They Run, An Ideal Husband, The Wizard of Oz, She Stoops to Conquer and My Fair Lady.



Robin Boxwell
Co-Sound Designer

Robin is excited to be a part of the Chemainus team once again. He currently designed for the repertoire season Murder On The Nile and Anything Goes. Robin has also been working on Sound Designs for Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Radio Play's and Good Night Desdemona Good Morning Juliette. Robin would like to dedicate this production to his father Bob Boxwell.



Helen Brancato
Dutch Girl/Ensemble

Helen makes her stage debut at CTF. She is a grade three student at Bench Elementary School. She has studied musical theatre and piano at Mulberry Lane School of Music for the past year. She enjoys school choir and the "Make a Difference Club" which promotes charitable works. Helen lives in Cowichan Bay.



Kendra Cooper
Costume Designer

Kendra Cooper is thrilled to be returning to the Chemanius Theatre Festival for Miracle On 34th Street. Other credits at Chemanius Theatre include Enchanted April and A Perfect Wife. Kendra resides in Vancouver for most of the year. She hails from out east and returns to Ontario every year to work at the Stratford Festival. Kendra has recently been published in Handwoven magazine for her handbag designs. She is looking forward to seeing everyone in Chemanius again soon, as she will be designing costumes for the up coming performance of Hay Fever.



Nicholas Croome
Tommy Mara/Ensemble

Nicholas is from Nanaimo where he attends grade five at Ecole Quarterway School. He enjoys breakdancing VIBE Dance Studios. He has also studied piano and acting. His stage credits include: Oliver! (Red Room Studios) and Pied Piper (Nanaimo Theatre Group). He was recently seen in an "Aquafresh" TV commercial.



Vanessa Croome
Susan/Ensemble

Vanessa attends grade seven at Ecole Quarterway School in Nanaimo. She sings with the Nanaimo Youth Choir as well as studying dance, piano, trumpet and musical theatre. She appeared in the independent film, Toy Room. Stage credits : Honk Jr! (Bard to Broadway), Pied Piper (NTG) and Snow White (Ladysmith Little Theatre). Vanessa is an award winning vocal soloist and this past summer she was a finalist in the PNE "All-ages" Talent Search in Vancouver.



Mark DuMez
Fred Gailey/Ensemble

This is Mark's 20th show at CTF, favourites include Murder On The Nile, Enchanted April, A Streetcar Named Desire, Mass Appeal, Animal Tales and Queen Milli of Galt (Prince Edward) and You Are Mine. Mark has created new work for the McLean Mill National Historic Site and will premier The Timeless Tales of Hans Christian Andersen for CTF's holiday KidzPlay Series. Mark is the recipient of three regional Kennedy Center ACTF awards and "Best of City" by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. His work has been produced and performed in Canada, U.S. and Hungary.



Omanie Elias
Scenery Designer

Omanie has been a scenic artist in theatre and television for ten years, working for many companies including the Vancouver Playhouse, Arts Club, Firehall Theatre, Pacific Theatre and the Vancouver Opera. Her set for A Macbeth is currently in production at Douglas College. Past designs include Lost in Yonkers (Chemainus Theatre), Falsettos and Company (Skycorner Productions), and The Yoko Ono Project (Firehall Arts Centre).



Breton Frazier
Stage Manager

Breton is delighted to stage manage her first production for Chemainus Theatre Festival. She has spent the last 18 months on a theatre hiatus living in St. Augustine, Florida. Previously she was Production Stage Manager of the Southwest Shakespeare Festival (Odessa, TX) for The Winter's Tale, Richard III and The Compleat Works of Wm Shakspear Abridged. Breton is a veteran of the professional theatre: artistic director, actor, director and teacher. She is married to actor William Groth.



William Groth
Sawyer/Mr. Gimble/Ensemble

William is a 30 year veteran of the stage. He has worked in regional theatres in almost every state in the U.S. and is happy to be back on Vancouver Island and here at CTF. He appeared here as Doctor Rank (A Doll's House), Colonel Pickering (My Fair Lady), Louie and Eddie (Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers), Lord Hardcastle (She Stoops To Conquer) and Harpagon (The Miser). When not busy working in regional theatre, William resides in New York City.



John Krich
Kris Kringle

John is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama and is now Professor Emeritus at the University of Victoria where he taught in the Department of Theatre for over three decades before retiring in 2002. He has performed in theatres both in Canada and the U.S. Chemainus Theatre Festival productions include: Mass Appeal, On Golden Pond, The Heiress, Candida, and An Ideal Husband. He happy to be with the CTF family of wonderful artists and friends once again.



Brian Linds
Co-Sound Designer

Chemainus Theatre Festival credits include A Doll's House and Lost In Yonkers. Brian also acted at CTF in Arsenic and Old Lace and Barefoot in the Park. Recent designs include Hockey Mom, Hockey Dad (Other Guys Theatre), Roger Maris On Stage (Western Canada Theatre), Girl In A Goldfish Bowl (Belfry/Prairie Theatre Exchange), Twelfth Night (Kaleidoscope Theatre) and the upcoming The Turn of the Screw and The Violet Hour (Belfry Theatre) and The Island Of Bliss (Western Canada Theatre). He recently supplied all the music for Touchstone Theatre's production of Hippies and Bolsheviks.



Kevin McAllister
Lighting Designer

Kevin's recently completed projects include His Greatness for the Arts Club Theatre, Driving Miss Daisy for Pacific Theatre, The Taming of the Shrew and Romeo & Juliet for Bard on the Beach, Spitfire Grill for the Grand Theatre and The Magic Flute for Vancouver Opera. His upcoming projects include Saint Joan and South Pacific for the Chemainus Theatre Festival, The Tempest and Titus Andronicus for Bard on the Beach and This Wonderful Life for Pacific Theatre. Kevin is a member of Associated Designers of Canada and is a graduate of UBC Theatre.



Nick Misura
Mr. Shellhammer/Ensemble

Nick, born and raised in Chemainus, is excited in making Miracle on 34th Street his debut on the Chemainus Theatre stage. Previous theatre credits include: Criminal Genius, Homefront, Zoo Story. Film/TVcredits include: Da Vinci's Inquest, X Files, Dead Like Me, Men In Trees, I'll Home For Christmas. Career highlights include working with Jack Lemmon in The Long Way Home and earlier this year working with Kirstie Alley in Write and Wrong.



Parker Schmidt
Tommy Mara/Ensemble

Parker is a grade three student at Alex Aitken Elementary School. He is learning "Hip hop" at Carlson's School of Dance this year. Parker also enjoys piano and choir. He lives in Duncan and for several years has participated in the Mormon Church's annual "Live Nativity Pageant".



Audrey Sheppard
Susan/Ensemble

Audrey is ten years old and has been home schooled the last four years. She has studied ballet and piano as well as musical theatre. She performed recently in Jellicle Cats and Wonka Magic at Stagecraft Theatre School. In 2004, she was proud to win the Grade One division of the Greater Victoria Storywriting competition for The Story of Life, which she also illustrated. Audrey lives in Victoria.



Emma Tow
Dutch Girl/Ensemble

Emma is in the fourth grade at Chemainus Elementary Community School. She has studied ballet for the past six years (Carlson's School of Dance), violin for two years (Nanaimo Conservatory of Music) and piano for four years. Emma loves theatre and is an avid reader. She is making her acting debut at CTF.



Kristian Truelsen
Judge Harper/Mr. Macy/Ensemble

Kristian has been a creative arts professional for 27 years in over a dozen cities across North America - as an actor in theatre (Arms and the Man, A Delicate Balance, All in the Timing), film (The Patriot, Lonely Hearts, My Girl), television (Clarissa Explains It All, I'll Fly Away) and voiceover; and as a director, songwriter, graphic designer and playwright. He currently makes his home in Toronto.



Lisa Waines
Miss Adams/Edna/Ensemble

Lisa is honoured to be involved in this production of Miracle on 34th Street. Favourite past productions include: Anything Goes (Chemainus Theatre Festival), Private Lives (Atlantic Theatre Festival), The Importance of Being Earnest (Grand Theatre, Citadel), Secret Life, Waste, Cavalcade (Shaw Festival), Dancing at Lughnasa (Western Canada Theatre Centre, New Bastion) and Cyberteens in Love (New Play Centre). Upcoming: Into The Woods for Patrick Street Productions at Vancouver East Cultural Centre in March 2008. Merry Christmas!



Colleen Wheeler
Doris/Ensemble

This is Colleen's fifth show with the Chemainus Theatre Festival, having last performed the title role in Candida (2001). Other recent credits include: 4.48 Psychosis (Horseshoes and Handgrenades), Trout Stanley (Ruby Slippers) and this past summer she played Kate in The Taming of the Shrew and Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet for Bard on the Beach. She has also performed in numerous television shows and has provided voices for many animated characters and commercials. Colleen received her B.F.A. (Acting) from the University of Alberta and is the recipient of four Jessie Richardson Awards.
