Tony Barton
Curly

Tony is excited to be making his Canadian debut with CTF from Chicago, Illinois. From coast to coast the role of Curly is amongst his favourite characters to perform. Other favourites include the title role of Hank Williams in Hank Williams: Lost Highway, Mark in Rent, Picasso in Picasso at the Lapin Agile and a unique role in Blueman Group in New York City. Tony thanks his family, his devoted fiancée Nicole and the folks at CTF.



David Baughan
Stage Manager

Born in England, David has a background as a theatre stage manager, lighting designer, and photographer. Stage management credits in BC include numerous productions for TheatreOne (Nanaimo), Graffiti Theatre (Salt Spring Island), and CTF. He is pleased to return for his 16th production here where he will also stage manage Anne in the winter. He is the administrator of Pacific Coast Stage Company (Nanaimo) and an associate director of Graffiti Theatre. David's photographs have been exhibited in many European and North American cities. His photographs are held in the Musée national d'art moderne collection in Paris.



Norma Bowen
Aunt Eller

Norma is a graduate of Studio 58 and an associate artist of CTF. Before leaving Vancouver she collected two Jessie Award nominations for Fool for Love (Arts Club) and a Lie of the Mind (Vancouver Playhouse). Favourite CTF credits include: Private Lives, Annie, See How They Run, An Ideal Husband, She Stoops to Conquer, A Doll's House, Hay Fever, Having Hope At Home, and most recently Ah, Wilderness!. Oklahoma! is her 18th production with CTF. Norma resides in Ladysmith with her husband Mike and their teenage progeny, Luanna and Cody.



Robin Boxwell
Sound Designer

Robin is pleased to be a part of the CTF family once again. He has recently been working on The Syringa Tree with TheatreOne as sound designer and Mr. Pim Passes By for CTF. Last year's CTF credits include South Pacific and Hay Fever. Robin will be working on the Vancouver Island Children's Festival in Nanaimo as Production Manager and as Technical Director for Theatre BC's MainStage Festival in Maple Ridge. Robin would like to dedicate this production to Sarah. Enjoy the show!



Darren Burkett
Will

Darren is thrilled to be making his debut at CTF in one of his dream roles! Favourite performances in theatre include productions with the Arts Club (Beauty and the Beast, The Producers and Gypsy), Theatre Under The Stars (Annie Get Your Gun and Footloose), Royal City Musical Theatre (A Chorus Line, West Side Story, The Music Man and Carousel) and URP (High School Musical, Godspell, Cabaret, and Jesus Christ Superstar). Look for Darren next in White Christmas at the Arts Club.



Samantha Currie
Gertie/Ensemble

Samantha is thrilled to once again be kicking up her heels in beautiful Chemainus. A Graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York, favourite performances include: Munsch Alley (Carousel Theatre), A Christmas Carol (Theatre NorthWest), The Invisible Girl (Green Thumb Theatre), Cabaret (Showcase Festival), Anne in Anne of Green Gables (Kaleidoscope Theatre), Heidi (Chemainus Theatre Festival). Samantha sends much love and thanks to her family especially her in-law for taking care of her this summer.



Michael Delamont
Jud

Oklahoma! marks Michael's debut at CTF. His recent credits include The War of 1812 (Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie), As You Like It (LOST), Silverwing (Kaleidoscope Theatre), Dark of the Moon (Phoenix Theatre), Grimm Tales (Itsazoo Productions), and the award-winning cabaret Atomic Vaudeville. See Michael again in the War of 1812 at the Victoria Fringe this September.



Marissa Dingle
Ensemble

This is Marissa's first appearance at CTF and is she ever excited to be part of such a great show! Marissa is a graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, BC. You may have seen her as Oolie/Donna in their performance of City of Angels or as Louise in Laughter on the 23rd Floor. She has also appeared in Suds! The Rockin' 60's Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, and Guys and Dolls. Enjoy the show!



Deanna Gutierrez
Ensemble

Deanna is originally from Calgary. She moved to Victoria where she was on the UVIC Dance Team and completed her BMus in Voice Performance. Deanna taught voice at the Victoria Conservatory of Music just prior to moving to Vancouver to pursue more dreams. She was thrilled to work with Peter Jorgensen previously in Orpheus: Gone to Hell as Eurydice. Other selected credits include: Rosie in The Barber of Barkerville (Vancouver Opera In Schools) and Zerlina in Don Giovanni (Vancouver Academy of Music).



Oscar Hammerstein II
Lyricist (1895 - 1960)

Oscar Hammerstein worked with many composers but the two most notable collaborations were with Jerome Kern (including Show Boat, Music in the Air, and Very Warm for May) and Richard Rodgers. The first result of this collaboration with Rodgers was Oklahoma! which revolutionized musical theatre with its songs and dances arising out of the plot and characterization. A string of hits followed that included: Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music.



Jeff Harrison
Lighting Designer

Jeff has designed over 40 shows in Vancouver and internationally and has been nominated for two Jessie Richardson Awards for his work on Screaming Flea's This Room is Moving and a Co-Design credit with Itai Erdal for Carousel Theatre's The Hobbit. He is a graduate of SFU's School for the Contemporary Arts and attended the Banff Centre for the Performing Arts. Past design credits include: The Full Monty (Patrick St. Productions), On the Ice of Labrador (Montreal Danse), Munsch Alley (Carousel Theatre), My Dad, My Dog and The Beginners (Boca Del Lupo), Train (Theatre Replacement), and Grace (Pacific Theatre).



Anna Kuman
Ado Annie/Ensemble

Anna is thrilled to be appearing in her first CTF show! She recently graduated from the Musical Theatre Diploma Program at Capilano University and this year has already appeared in The Producers (Arts Club), Bruce: The Musical (Raw), The Musical of Musicals: The Musical! (Fighting Chance), The Full Monty (Patrick Street), and most recently as Val in A Chorus Line (Royal City Musical Theatre). She also won an Ovation Award in 2008 in the category of Outstanding Newcomer - Female. She would like to thank her parents for their unconditional love and support.



Julie Martens
Set Designer

Julie is thrilled to be working with CTF. She would like to thank the cast/production team involved for all of their work. Some of her past projects include: Set Design The Full Monty (Patrick St. Productions); Lighting Design The Vancouver Inter'l Dance Festival (Kokoro Dance); Lighting Design Voices of the Pacific Rim (Vancouver Opera); Set/Lighting Design La Vue D'en Haut (Jesse Nomination, Theatre la Seizieme), Lighting Design Apocalypse En Kamloops (Jesse Nomination, Theatre la Seizieme/Theatre la Catapulte), Lighting Design Evening In Paris (Raven Spirit Dance).



Richard McBride
Ike/Ensemble

Richard is thrilled to return to CTF having previously appeared during the 2007 season in Anything Goes and Murder On The Nile. He attended the Banff Centre Music Theatre Ensemble. His first professional gig was as a torch-bearing dancer with La Scala Opera during Expo 86. His theatre credits include Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby, four seasons at the Charlottetown Festival, and shows at the Vancouver Playhouse, Theatre Calgary and Princess Cruises. His film credits include Santa's helper and stunt work in ELF. As professional ice skater his shows include the U.S. tour of Grease on Ice starring Nancy Kerrigan.



Tracy Neff
Laurey

Tracy has a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory (Silver Medal '04). She has sung with the Boston Pops Orchestra and done summer stock in Maine (A Funny Thing Happened...Forum, Joseph, The Music Man). Since returning to Vancouver, Tracy has appeared as Hope Cladwell in Urinetown (Firehall Arts Centre, Ovation Award for Best Leading Female); Amy in Company (Arts Club Theatre); Charlotte/Bet in Oliver (Playhouse); Sandy in Grease (TUTS) and Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls (Gateway Theatre). Dean Ozen
Slim/Ensemble

Raised in Calgary, but now a Chemainiac, Dean has entertained audiences all over the world. His decorative competitive dance training gave him employment as a production cast member on some of the world's leading cruise lines; Holland America, Celebrity, Seabourne, Norwegian, Carnival and Festival. You may have seen Dean, on a break from the ship life, at CTF during Hello Dolly and Annie. A graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts, Dean also traveled from coast to coast of the United Kingdom with his own Dance/Illusion act.



Bonnie Pavlovic
Costume Design

Bonnie is delighted to be designing for CTF. As well as being a designer for the theatre, she is a costumer for film. Exciting theatre projects include, The Man Who Shot Chance Delaney (Western Canada Theatre), The Island of Bliss (WCT), The Last Five Years (WCT), The Glass Menagerie (Project X) and Bad Boy Chronicles (Capilano). She is a graduate of Capilano's Costuming for Theatre and Film Program and a graduate of Fashion Design from the Blanche Macdonald Centre.



Gordon Roberts
Carnes/Assistant Musical Director

Gordon has been a professional performer for over 40 years. He has become a mainstay of the West Coast musical theatre world having performed at the Arts Club, Vancouver Playhouse, Waterfront Theatre, and with the Royal City Musical Theatre Company in New Westminster. He is overjoyed to return to CTF where he had such fun performing in Little Women, She Stoops to Conquer, and as Alfie Doolittle in My Fair Lady. Gordon is also a trained pianist and orchestral percussionist who lives in North Vancouver with his beautiful wife Marni.



Richard Rodgers
Music Composer (1902 - 1979)

Richard Rodgers composed the music for more than 900 songs and 40 Broadway musicals. He first collaborated with Lorenz Hart and produced such shows as The Girl Friend, A Connecticut Yankee, Babes in Arms and I Married an Angel. Hart died in 1943. Rodgers teamed up with Oscar Hammerstein and the rest, so they say, "is history". They revolutionized the art form - what was once a collection of dance numbers, songs and comic turns held together by a tenuous plot became a fully integrated art form that started with Oklahoma!.



David Thomson
Ali Hakim

Although a long-time resident of Vancouver, David is always thrilled to be able to spend time in Chemainus. Audiences here will remember him from A Christmas in Wales (Dylan), Hay Fever (Richard Greatham), Saint Joan (Archbishop and Inquisitor), South Pacific (Professor), Mr. Pim Passes By (George Marden) and, most recently, Ah, Wilderness! (Sid Davis). A Studio 58 graduate and twenty-five-year veteran of the professional stage, he has performed in theatres across Canada. Big thanks to the hardworking folks at CTF, and to the audiences who support their efforts - enjoy the show!



Melissa Young
Choreographer

Melissa is thrilled to be choreographing Oklahoma! Recent choreography credits include: The Comedy of Errors (Bard on the Beach), Seussical, The Hobbit, (Carousel Theatre), The Wizard of Oz and I Do! I Do! (CTF). Recent acting credits include The Producers, Gypsy, 4 seasons of Disney's Beauty and the Beast (Arts Club), Into The Woods (Patrick St. Productions), Hot Flashes (Western Canada Theatre/ Gateway), and The Pirates of Penzance (CTF). Watch out for Melissa in Barbie's Thumbelina where she provided the motion capture for a variety of fairies. Melissa has been nominated for 3 Jessie Awards.



Steven Greenfield
Musical Director/Cord Elam

Steven is thrilled to be back for his seventh production at CTF! Favourite acting credits: Mr. Pim Passes By, Little Women, Seussical, Forever Plaid, Come Blow Your Horn, Gypsy and the Vancouver Fringe hit The Musical of Musicals-The Musical!. A Jessie Award-winning musical director (Seussical), Steven's next adventure is My Fair Lady for Western Canada Theatre. Love to family, friends and Jessie.
