David Baughan
Stage Manager
Born in England, David is a theatre stage manager, lighting designer, and photographer. Stage management credits in BC include numerous productions for TheatreOne (Nanaimo), Graffiti Theatre (Salt Spring Island), and Chemainus Theatre Festival. He returns here for his 19th production where he stage managed Patsy Cline earlier this year. David's photographs have been exhibited in many European and North American cities and are held in the Musée national d'art moderne collection in Paris.

Phillip Clarkson
Set and Costume Designer
Phillip's numerous Belfry Theatre design credits include, Two, Kilt, and Dirty Blonde, Shirley Valentine with Nicola Cavendish, most recently, for Centaur Theatre, Glorious! for Theatre Calgary, Belfry, CanStage and Arts Club Theatres; Ain't Misbehavin', Crowns, and Misery for the CanStage, Bunnicula and Seussical (Dora nomination) for LKTYP; The Merchant of Venice for the Stratford Festival and Anne and Gilbert on P.E.I.. Phillip has won 6 Jessie Awards for Outstanding Costumes.

Ian Harmon
Eddie/Patient
Ian is happy to be making his Chemainus debut. Recent credits include: Guys and Dolls (Gateway Theatre), Suburbia (Twenty Something Theatre), Werewolves (Pi Theatre), Hay Fever (Presentation House). Ian holds a BFA in Acting from the University of British Columbia and is also a graduate of the Douglas College Theatre Program. He would like to thank Nicky and Mark for this opportunity.

Jenny Mitchell

Jenny is thrilled to be making her debut at The Chemainus Theatre Festival under the direction of Ms. Cavendish. Recent credits include Relatively Speaking, How the Other Half Loves (Presentation House), Don't Dress for Dinner (Waterfront Theatre), Twelfth Night and The Memory of Water (Hendry Hall). Jenny is the founder of Laughing Matters Theatre Company. She sends her love to her three boys at home!

Nicholas Rice
Willy Clark
Nicholas is proud to make his Chemainus debut in The Sunshine Boys. A Winnipegger, he studied Theatre and English at UBC and has acted throughout Canada since 1975. Film credits include Look Who's Talking with John Travolta, and Philip Borsos' The Grey Fox. Recent stage credits include The Price (MTC) and Little Shop of Horrors (Stage West). Nicholas cycles, swims, trains in goju-style karate, and is the proud father of Neta. He dedicates his performance tonight to the memory of his dear classmate and friend, Goldie Semple.

Neil Simon
Playwright
Born July 4, 1927, New York, U.S. After studying at New York University, he worked as a comedy writer for Sid Caesar in the 1950s. His autobiographical play Come Blow Your Horn was the first of a long series of hit comedies that includes Barefoot in the Park, The Odd Couple and Plaza Suite. His later plays include the autobiographical trilogy of Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues, and Broadway Bound. His plays deal humorously with the everyday conflicts of ordinary middle-class people, often in New York City. For Lost in Yonkers, he received a Tony Award and a Pulitzer Prize.

Paul Tedeschini
Sound Design
Paul is extremely happy to be back at The Chemainus Theatre Festival, after working as Assistant Director on the production of The Woman In Black. Paul has designed, composed and mixed sound and music for film, TV, theatre and dance since 1988. Theatre credits include projects for VIU, The National Arts Centre, Theatre Passe Muraille, Buddies In Bad Times Theatre, The Theatre Centre and Summerworks Theatre Festival.

Dirk Van Stralen
Ben
Dirk Van Stralen is thrilled to be back in Chemainus. A four-time Jessie award nominated actor, graphic designer and an award-winning editorial cartoonist, his single panel cartoon, vanstralen, ran in the Georgia Straight for 17 years. He is the illustrator of two wordless children's books - Ben's Big Dig and Ben's Bunny Trouble - published by Orca Books. He is currently working on a third called Ben's Big Stink.

Lighting and Set Design
John is thrilled to be working at the Chemainus Theatre Festival once again. John is a West Coast designer and over the years has had the privilege of working with many of the West Coast's most talented and adventurous artists, receiving many design awards along the way.
