Norma Bowen
Costume Designer

Norma (aka Prunella Vulgaris, the Witch in the Wardrobe) is an associate artist with CTF, where she has designed more than a dozen shows. Favourite costume designs include An Inspector Calls, A Streetcar Named Desire, Little Women, Anything Goes, Murder on the Nile, The Miracle Worker, and most recently, Mr. Pim Passes By. Norma is a graduate of Studio 58.



Robin Boxwell
Sound Designer

Robin is pleased to be a part of the CTF family once again. He recently worked on The Syringa Tree for TheatreOne in Nanaimo as sound designer and Oklahoma! for CTF. Last year's CTF credits included South Pacific and Hay Fever. Robin will be working on High School Musical next for Viva Musica in Kelowna. Enjoy the show.



Susan Hill
Novelist

Born in Scarborough, Susan Hill has written half a dozen novels, two books of short stories, several children's books, two autobiographies and numerous radio plays. She has won various awards for her works including the Somerset Maughan Prize, a Whitbread award and the John Llewelyn Rhys Memorial Prize. Recently she completed the sequel to Rebecca entitled Mrs. De Winter. She is also a regular broadcaster and reviewer for various journals and newspapers.



Kevin K. James
The Actor

The Woman in Black marks Kevin's second time working at CTF, but the first as an actor. He was here this last summer choreographing the fights for Oklahoma! Now based in Vancouver, Kevin has worked in all kinds of theatres all over the world. From Victoria's Belfry to Munich, Germany; Regina's Globe to London, England; Winnipeg in February to Grahamstown, South Africa in the height of summer. He likes it here best.



Pam Johnson
Set Designer

Pam is thrilled to be working with the wonderful gang in Chemainus. This is Pam's 29th year as a set designer since graduating from Studio 58. She has been the resident designer at the Vancouver Playhouse since 1987 where she has designed over 39 shows. She is a five time Jessie Award winner, a Monday Magazine award winner and an Interior Design Institute award winner. Her shows have been seen in London, Tokyo, Melbourne and New York. Pam now teaches theatre design at Studio 58.



Stephen Mallatratt (1947-2004)
Adaptor

A London-born playwright, television screenwriter and actor who died of leukemia in 2004. Best known for his work on television series such as Coronation Street, The Forsyte Saga and Island at War and the stage adaptation of Susan Hill's novel The Woman in Black. He acted in movies such as Brideshead Revisited and Chariots of Fire amongst others and was a member of Alan Ayckbourn's company in Scarborough for many years.



Meghan Morton
Stage Manager

This is Meghan's eleventh show with Chemainus Theatre Festival (CTF), and her second show as an Equity Stage Manager, Meghan trained at Malaspina University College. Her favourite shows for CTF include Hay Fever, Murder on the Nile and Ah, Wilderness! She would like to thank everyone who has supported her especially her mentors/heroes Alex and David for all the help and advice they have given and continue to give.



Marsha Sibthorpe
Lighting Designer

A resident of Vancouver and Denman Island, Marsha has designed the lighting for over 500 theatrical productions. Her work was recently seen in the Vancouver Arts Club Theatre's productions of Les Miserables and The Altar Boyz and Western Canada Theatre Company's Seussical The Musical. Marsha is thrilled to be making her design debut for the Chemainus Festival and to be working with old and new friends.



Joanne Wilson
Vision Production

Joanne has worked for stage, television, film and radio for over 20 years, appearing at the Citadel Theatre, Workshop West, Chinook Theatre, among others. Some of her recent film and TV roles include TRON 2.0, The Mermaid Chair, Trophy Wife, Whispers & Lies, Cross Roads and August Gone. Joanne also hosts two national radio programs, The Parent Report and At Work with Joanne Wilson, and is a successful voice-over artist for hundreds of commercials. Joanne is in high spirits over her debut with The Woman in Black.
